Welcome to Pez Cantina, the passion project of husband-and-wife team Chef Bret Thompson and Lucy Ramirez Thompson, located on Bunker Hill in the Financial District of Downtown Los Angeles. For nearly a decade, we have brought the spirit and soul of Loreto, Baja California, and the influence of Lucy’s Mexican culinary roots to the heart of LA.
Inspired by our travels and guided by Bret’s expertise as a seasoned professional chef, Pez Cantina offers a unique Mexican Seafood House experience. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, we reinvented ourselves time and time again, from launching the Pez Coastal Kitchen to creating an outdoor patio with live music. Our resilience and dedication to serving our community have led to us making our own seasonings: Boom Chile and Lime Spice.
Today, Pez Cantina thrives by focusing on catering and special events, ensuring we remain a part of your celebrations. We cater corporate lunches, happy hours, and locals seeking an exceptional dining experience. Our lunch menu features standout dishes like Ceviche, Spicy Ahi Tuna Tostada, and Green Shrimp Aguachile. We also provide excellent dinner dishes like our fresh cuts of meats and mariscos with a variety of sauces and molcajete. Our salads, including the Mexican Caesar Salad and House Salad with jicama, cucumber, and tomatoes, are quiet all-stars too.
